God's Work, Our Hands
Church Council has voted to suspend in person worship starting December 27 2020. Watch our weekly worship videos on youtube.
The New Testament contains four gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each tells the story of Jesus in their own way. While many of the episodes in the life of Jesus are the same, there are differences in emphasis and events between the four evangelists. Each week we’ll explore one of the gospels and discover what the particular writer wants us to know about Jesus.
This four-week Bible study will begin on Tuesday, January 5, at 7:00 p.m. The Zoom link for the Bible study is below.
You are invited to a Zoom meeting.
When: Starting Jan 5, 2021 07:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)

Following Jesus: An Online Lenten Pilgrimage
Lent provides Christians and opportunity to deepen their faith by focusing on Jesus’ own journey to the cross. By following our Lord to his Passion, Death, and Resurrection we are drawn into the story of God’s confrontation with the forces of sin and evil and the victory God wins over death.
You are invited to participate in a Lenten pilgrimage with Jesus through a weekly gathering on Zoom. Each week we’ll follow Jesus to the cross by reading the stories in scripture. Our journey will be enhanced by depictions in art, music, and literature.
The sessions will be held each week on Tuesdays beginning on February 23 and continue for five weeks through March 23. Each session begins at 7:00 p.m. and lasts about an hour. All are welcome to participate but we are asking that you register. You may do so by following the link below.

To Know God and Make God Known Through:
Daily committing our lives to Christ in Baptism;
Declaring The Word by sharing Christ's Promise and Supper;
Serving All People; Together as one in the Spirit.
Ruach is the Hebrew word for Spirit that also means breath or winds. All living creatures owe the breath of life to the Creative Spirit of God. The word's first use in the Bible appears in the second verse of Genesis: "The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." Altogether, the word ruach is used almost 400 times in the Old Testament.
In the waters of the Jordan, Jesus was revealed as the beloved Son of God. Through this great epiphany, Jesus fulfills all righteousness and becomes the servant of God who will bring forth justice and be a light to the nations. In the waters of baptism, we too are washed by the word, anointed by the Spirit, and named God's beloved children.
Lutherans believe that Christ is present for us in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. This is called "The Real Presence" or "in, over and under" the elements of bread and wine. We invite all to receive the blood of our Savior by common cup or individual glass.
Swamp Church joins in fellowship with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Lutherans share in the faith expressed in the Apostles, Nicene, and Anthanasian Creeds, in the Lutheran confessional writings (collected as the Book of Concord) and the ELCA Confession of Faith. Our church shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace.
8 A.M. is our short-form traditional service with communion.
9 A.M. is our full traditional liturgical service following the ELCA order of service:
